ARES Arm Shocker
The ARES Arm Shocker
Setcan is proud to announce that they have partnered with Alex Angerer and Kaywee Lian of Augmented Technologies LLC to develop the new ARES Arm Shocker.
WHAT IS THE ARES ARM SHOCKER?
The Ares Arm Shocker is a reality based training device used to simulate the restrictive motion, stress, and pain of dominant arm injuries. The device forces students to use their non-dominant hand for shooting and to carry out the training scenario with a restrained arm.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Once activated by either a RF key fob or through a hit on the Stressvest system, it begins delivering a safe, local electrical impulse into the side of the arm. The pain penalty can be stopped by the student moving their arm to a fixed, flexed position – forcing non-dominant hand firearm operation and preventing effective arm use.
DO WE HAVE TO HAVE THE STRESSVEST SYSTEM TO USE THE ARES ARM SHOCKER?
No. Although it will be more realistic if used in conjunction with the Stressvest system it can be used by agencies still using older reality based training methods by having an instructor use the RF key fob to activate the device during the optimal time in the scenario.
CAN THE ARES ARM SHOCKER BE USED ON A LIVE RANGE?
No. The dangers of using this type of product with live fire weapons far outweighs the potential training benefit of use on a range.
